Frequently asked questions about our kitesurf school at the Stagnone

FAQ - Your frequently asked questions

How do I reach the spot from Palermo or Trapani airport?

The Stagnone Kite Corner spot is about five minutes from Trapani-Birgi airport.

At the terminal exit, you will find both taxis and car rental agencies.

You can also rent a car at affordable prices from your airline’s website.

To reach the spot from Palermo airport takes about 50 minutes.

You will also find car rental agencies and the shuttle service that goes back and forth between Falcone-Borsellino and Trapani-Birgi airports.

Regardless of the point of arrival, you can contact us to book a private transfer service.

Do I need a vehicle for my stay?

The Stagnone Lagoon and the small village of Birgi have all the essential services: mini-markets, restaurants, pizzerias, bars, pharmacies, banks, post offices, etc.

Our spot is within walking distance of many B&Bs and apartments.

However, if you do not want to deprive yourself of the possibility of kitesurfing in other nearby beaches or, more simply, of taking a tour in Marsala or Trapani, a private vehicle is advisable.

You can rent: scooters, cars, bicycles or take advantage of the scooter-sharing service.

What can I do in the evening?

There are tons of possibilities to spend the evening after a nice day of kiting.

Aperitifs or dinners directly on the lagoon or in the nearby cities of Trapani, Marsala, or in the suggestive Erice.

And once your stomach is full, enjoy the music in one of the many parties that brighten up the evenings.

Here you can meet and get to know kiters from all over the world.

Are there places to visit When there is no wind?

Of course, you will be spoiled for choice.

The cities of Trapani, Marsala, the Mozia or Trapani salt pans, the beautiful Erice, a trip to Mazara del Vallo.

And still many archaeological sites nearby for day trips.

A touch and escape in Favignana or a 2-3 day mini-cruise to see the other islands as well.

Many beaches with turquoise waters and white sand for swimming.

Itineraries for tasting local wines or a trip to the spa … in short, the only difficulty will be choosing.

where can I stay, B&B or an apartment?

The choice of accommodation mostly depends on your needs.

You can stay in a B&B, rent an apartment, an entire villa, or simply a room.

For those who want an informal environment to share with other kiters at affordable prices, our surf-house is at your disposal.

Is all the equipment included in the lessons?

Our courses and lessons include equipment, safety devices, and membership, including insurance.

I travel alone; how / where can I make new acquaintances?

Just come to the spot to start meeting new people.

But more generally you will have no difficulty interacting with other Italian and foreign kiters at aperitifs, parties or even at the supermarket.

The community of kiters that Stagnone frequents is a big family.

Do you organize no wind activities?

Yes, when the wind disappears for a few days, we have fun organizing trips to always give you new and beautiful experiences, including aperitif dinners and parties at the spot.

Will there be a group?

Of course!

There are a lot of opportunities to be together even out of the water…

Starting with an aperitif at the end of each windy day.

Can I change the size of the kite if the wind changes?

Absolutely yes.

If you don’t have a sail of the right size for the type of wind, you can rent one from Stagnone Kite Corner.

What if I travel alone?

In Stagnone, you will hardly be able to be alone for more than 10 minutes unless you want to.

Here you will meet many people to share your passion for kitesurfing, starting with us!
